Fruit Cereal

Now and then I like to take a break from the Green Smoothie in the morning... not all that often, I admit, still, one must vary sometimes, right?

Yesterday was one of those days so I had a big bowl of Fruit Cereal, a recipe inspired by some of the recipes in Brendan Brazier's The Thrive Diet.

If you are using Chia Seeds, always start with this step:
Place about 1 Tbsp of Chia Seeds in a small bowl and generously cover with water. Let it stand about 5-10 mn. or until it turns into a gel.

The Basics:
While that's happening, chop two or more fruits (depending on how hungry you are) into a good size bowl.
Add a spoonful of ground flax seeds and one of carob (or cocoa powder).
Sprinkle granola or chopped nuts of choice (almonds, walnuts, pecans, etc... your pick) on top.

Check your Chia Seeds. It should be a nice gel by now. Be patient another 5 mn. if you must, or if not, then go ahead and pour the gel in the bowl.

Add milk of choice to desired amount. For me that's coconut milk. Any other nut milks would be great too, though I always say stay away from the soy milk -but that's just me.

TaDAAaaa!
